Question: Is this violin worth buying!?
There is a violin on ebay that is a "Pantoni" or "Pantonei" brand!. It's selling for cheaper than most violins on ebay and when I google the brand I get absolutely no results (other than links to ebay where it is being sold)!.

My question is: Is this a bad brand!? I'm not looking for "one of the top ten best brands" or one of the most expensive!. I'm just looking for a violin that will meet the needs of a beginner!. Is this brand a decent buy!? Www@QuestionHome@Com

Stay away from Ebay! This is junk and the setup is going to be so poor, you'd have to spend more than the instrument is worth to get it into playable shape!.

I completely disagree with this notion of "don't buy online!." If you go into a violin shop, they will try to sell you what they have in stock, and the prices are sky high because they have to pay overhead; i!.e!., rent, utility bills, advertising, etc!. Many good lines of violins are available online; just make sure that you buy from a reputable company and the instrument is set up well!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

it's not really safe to buy a violin online you never know what you may get and it might get damaged during the delivery!.

it's a lot bettter to go to your local strings shop I bet they'll be able to tell you what brands are good for begginer and tips about how to keep up your violin!.you'll probably want to start with a violin in the $100-$400 price range but it all depends on what it sounds like!.

I've had my cheap $100 violin for almost a year it's not the best but i'm able to get a decent sound out of it my teacher says i have a nice tone so the violin isn't completely worthless!.If your afraid of spending lots of money get a secondhand violin or rent one, there are lots of options!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think you should by a different brand violin since this brand is not nearly popular or it even doesn't have a website,Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would never buy a violin sight unseen on Ebay unless I had money to burn and was willing to take the risk of getting a real clunker!. When you buy a musical instrument on Ebay, you have no clue what you're getting unless you're buying a brand name instrument -- and even then you have no idea what this individual instrument sounds or plays like until it's shipped to you!. And then if you don't like it after you get it, too bad -- you're stuck with it!.

I've never heard of the brand and apparently neither have any of the reputable violin dealers on the Internet!. That should tell you something important about the quality, or lack thereof, of this violin!. You don't say how much its selling for, but it its cheaper than most (new) violins being sold on Ebay, it must be absolutely DIRT cheap, not only in terms of price but also in terms of quality!. If its under $100, its likely to be a cheapo violin that almost certainly won't sound or play very well -- and if it doesn't sound or play at least halfway decently, you'll get frustrated with it and quit!. If its $50 or less, its likely to be useful only as a child's toy or a wall decoration!. Forget it!.

If you're serious about learning to play violin, go to a real violin store with real salespeople and real instruments that you can actually look at and try out before you buy!. Bring a violin-playing friend or your teacher to help you choose an instrument!. If you're willing to invest $400-500 on a violin, bow and case, you can get a decent beginner instrument that will play and sound pretty nice and that you won't outgrow or get frustrated with in 6 months!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
