Ooo, ooo I know this one!

Start on whichever one moves you most! Really pick the one that best suits the music you really want to play and go with that!.

When people say acoustic is better to learn on it is because it is harder and the transition to electric is and easier switch than electric to acoustic!. But if acoustic music isn't your cup of tea or you get frustrated easily you'll end up quitting before the transition point anyway!.

Play what you love most!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would recommend a standard acoustic guitar and you don't have to have an expensive one!. Don't get a really cheap one either!. Just remember, if don't like it, or if you fail to learn, it will end up under the bed or in a closet!.

However, steel string acoustics make your fingers hurt until you build up callouses!. regular electric guitars are set up differently and don't take the same pressure with your fingers, so you will get less callouses!.

Other than that, it is totally up to you!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Personal preference really, a lot of people swear by the acoustic guitar (and it's not a bad way to go) since the sound is more pure and you can't go into distortion or anything like that!.

I started with an electric guitar though, and never looked back, the acoustic guitar was to bulky and kind of annoying to play!.

Go to a music store and just play around with both a little bit, see which one you like more!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'd say start with an acoustic, since an electric is like an advanced version of it!. Once you learn the basic version (acoustic), then you can go to electric!.

I remember my guitar teacher saying that, "Everybody's getting an electric; everybody's getting so advanced!."

So, acoustic is the way to go!.

Acoustic electric is a good start as well I believe!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

you should get a teacher to start you off with 10~15 acoustic lessons just to get the basics, once you got the hang of it, you can start rocking to an electric :D

oh yeah, and take electric lessons too of course!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i'd say go with the acoustic guitar if you want good fundamentals of finger play!. it's way too easy to get a good sound from an electric guitar!. it takes some effort to do it well on an acoustic guitar!. and you don't need a good amp for it to sound nice!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would go to a music store!. They'll let you try a few out!. See which you like best, acoustic or electric!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
