Usually what I look for when I'm auditioning my actors is how do they feel about this!? About me!? How badly do they want this part!? What is their attitude like!? What you wear and how you look is about 85% of what answers these questions!. Jeans and a t-shirt!? You could!. But!. Why don't you show up in something a bit more!? Don't be too sloppy!.
And don't overdress!. If you come dressing like you already think you're the star, I'll assume you're too arrogant and are too absorbed in yourself!. You have to walk a fine line, just another challenge of being an actor!.
also, be relaxed and comfortable!. Don't overdue it, and don't treat the audition like a stiff law interview!. Though you must, MUST, take it seriously and professionally, please don't overreact!.
Well, good luck!. And if you are interested in something other than stage, try these websites for some television or film auditions:

In my opinion, a good performer requires 3 things:

Passion, energy, and talent!.

The best of the best performers have all these as well as the 4th trait: vision!.

Well, if its for an acting role, you don't need to be in costume of course, but I think it would help if you wore something that vaguely resembled what the character might wear -- even if a producer/director says or thinks it doesn't matter, if you show up looking good for the part, as well as sounding good, I can't help but think they would connect that!. I mean, if you're auditioning for Annie, and you turn up in a red dress and hair a little curly --not too obvious, of course-- I think that would make more of an impression than the girl who shows up in slacks and a polo shirt!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Actually, for most acting and modeling gigs, your body plays a large role in their decision to cast you!.

Even if it's not a musical, they want to see how you move!. They want to get an idea of your body type, proportions, etc!.

To be clear though- they are not always looking for the skinniest or big-chested, etc!. Many times they want someone heavier, shorter, or with more masculine mannerisms!. The bottom line is, they need to be able to see this!.

Wearing jeans is not advised as they can be bulky around the waist, can hide or "reshape" your body, and can hinder your movement if they ask you to do something like jump and kick (and they might! LOL)!.

Try to wear something form-fitting: dance shorts and a tank top, a leotard, a fitted T-shirt and leggings, etc!. If you want, you can always wear a skirt or tailored slacks with an open button-up, but wear a tank and dance shorts underneath!. This can make a good impression, but still assure that you are ready for whatever they ask of you for the audition!.

At 14, they may not ask you to wear heels, but as you get older, many will!. They want to know that you can walk in them without "stepping over cow-pies"!.

Modeling auditions will ask you to wear heels 99% of the time, with little to no makeup, and no hair products (like hairspray)!.

Acting auditions sometimes require you to wear dance shoes (ballet slippers), but not often!. Usually, this is for musicals!.!.!. but I have had 2 auditions for shows with no music that asked us to wear dance shoes!. Random!.

Anyways, hope this helped!.!.!. break a leg! :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Dress professionally!. It's like a job interview!.

Think of what someone would have to wear to impress you!.!.!.and do more than that!.

I know you're only 14 but you should have a pretty good idea of what is impressive when it comes to getting dressed up!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
