Ok!. Here's the real information!. The AVERAGE age at death was 35!. What that means is that if you survived childhood diseases, farming accidents, wars, and such past your 12th birthday you had a quite good chance of living to a ripe old age!. A large majority of those deaths were from childhood illnesses: measles, mumps, etc!.

Having studied medieval fighting techniques extensively, I can assure you that even with daily practice it would take years before you would be ready to fight in a war!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If the average age is in the early thirties and a lot of the guys are in there late teens and early twenties, mathematically you would need a sprinkle of ancient upper forties or early fifties!. Maybe the everyday challenges of a medieval life caused people to age less gracefully and they simply look older!. Or when they put out the call for extras, that is all that showed up!. Teens could not fight, they were not called men unless they had been trained well and they were just not trusted battling!. But movies like Lord of the rings and Modern Medieval movies u see alot more younger men!. Things have change in our day, lolWww@QuestionHome@Com

it might be because the older men who survived were more experienced then the young ones therefore better fightersWww@QuestionHome@Com
