Question: Can you replace a broken guitar string (G) with a different guitar string!?
I broke my G string, replaced it from the new set of strings i bought, and then it broke again, i now know how to keep it from breaking, but i don't want to buy a new string, is there anyway to replace it with a different string from the pack!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

No!. You have to buy a new string!. Each string is meant to be to tolerate a different tension!. If you use a lower string than the G string, it will break when you try to tune it to G because the tension will be too tight!. If you use a higher string than the G string, the tension will be too loose when you try to tune it to G!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You should get a new pack of strings!.
They're only like 5 bucks though, so it shouldn't be too big of a deal!.
If the rest of your strings are pretty old (around a year or older) than you should just replace all the strings this time, just to keep them consistent!.

also, keep the spare high E strings that you've got somewhere safe!. That's the string you'll be breaking the most!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

NO you are out of luck this time!. You might find individual strings at the Guitar or music store!.
