What type of guitar...?

Question: What type of guitar!.!.!.!?

I've never played a guitar before but i want to buy one and take lessons!. what type of guitar should i get for a beginner!? i want to play alternative music and im kinda short!. im 5' 1"!. idk if that has anything to do with it!.!.!.lol!. but please help!. =]Www@QuestionHome@Com

i think you should get either a classical or an acoustic guitar!.!.
classical guitars have nylon strings, so they are easier to play and such!.!. while acoustics have steel strings!.

personally, i think you should start with an acoustic, so you can get used to the strings and stuff!. (and it also fits more genres and styles of music!.!.) classical guitars are quite soft sounding!.!.

as for other types of guitars, you can get electric guitars and also acoustic-electric ones!. The acoustic electric one can be played with or without an amp!.!.

Go to a local music shop with an adequate selection!. Try and avoid mass merchandisers like Guitar Center for the moment!.

You will need to try out as many instruments as you can!. Small shops can devote more quality time to your answering your questions and make recommendations based on what they observe!. It's like getting "fitted" for clothes!. The instrument should be appropriate to your size!. You probably wouldn't want to start out with a jumbo-sized acoustic!.

If you're worried about size there are 3/4 size, parlor, and concert models which feature smaller than standard bodies!. Daisy Guitars are designed specifically for girls and women!.

If you're going to play guitar for the first time, try aiming for either steel or Nylon strings!. Nylon strings are more preferable, because they stay tuned longer and they sound better, depending on what type of sound you're looking for!. Acoustic guitars would also be in the better question!.
