Question: Good songs for a beginner to learn on Ukulele!?

I picked up a Tenor Ukulele and would like to learn!. What are some simple songs I can learn that will get me familiar with it!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think, no matter how silly they are, folk songs like What Shall We Do With A Drunken Sailor are quite good!. Simple chords!. Maybe Kumbaya My Lord would work aswell!. Anything like that really!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have a tenor and soprano ukulele, and although the soprano is smaller, I think it's better to learn on!. Plastic models are good and relatively cheap!.

Avoid the traditional songs that are in piano or guitar books for beginners!. The Uke was most fashionable back around the 1920s!. Try to find any music from that time period!. The undisputed "champ" of the uke is Cliff Edwards also known as "Ukulele Ike!." There are books of his songs and sometimes you can find him in an old movie!. Try songs like "Five Foot Two, Eyes of Blue" or "The Dark-town Strutters' Ball" or "Ja-Da!." Www@QuestionHome@Com
