Question: If I practice with a metronome everyday how long will it take before I get a good sense of time!?

My timing sucks and soon im joining a band, I been working with a metronome but how long will it take if I practice with it everyday!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

It shouldn't take too long!. Using a metronome improved my counting and rhythm skills so much!. Another great way to figure out rhythms is to listen to recordings of the songs you're doing (whether it's YouTube or iTunes) in band!. Don't feel discouraged if you're having a hard time!. Just start off slowly (set the metronome to a tempo you feel comfortable playing at) and gradually work your way up to the reasonable tempo for the song!. If the notes and the counting is giving you a hard time, try clapping the beats before you play!.

If you are typical & you use it everyday, I would guess it will take about a month to two!.
I suggest that you do not use it all the time!. Use it until you are sure you have a line correct!. Then try playing it without the metronome!.
