How can I get my guitar back from my dad?

Question: How can I get my guitar back from my dad!?

For christmas my dad got me an Ibanez RG painted like a Steve Vai JEM, but he took it away like 3 months later for bad grades!. Not even the smartest people in my grade (9th) get all As and Bs, especially since im taking the hardest classes!. I know I can't get straight As or any good grades, but i didn't fail anything, i just got d's and c's!. he says if my next quarter grades are straight As i can get it!. helpz!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

your dad's a control freak,and needs counseling, or you did something your not telling us, because that's the last thing I usually have to take away, in fact I use at as punishment in a way, as in, no you cant go to your friends you can go to your room and play that guitar you had to have!. and I'm just happy he's passing with Cs and BsWww@QuestionHome@Com

So why dont you prove to him that you can get good grades while still playing guitar!.
If that does not work, or if you already tried it, you should try to audition for something really good that involves music!.
But trust me, the last thing parents want to hear is comparison of yourself to other kids so dont tell him about the other kids grades!.
