By the way, you can subdivide 12/4 into 12 beats, by way of 3 + 3 + 3 + 3, by the way you move your baton!. The result is this!.!.!.!.

First beat!.!.!.!.down (a very "strong" down)
Second beat!.!.!.down
Third beat!.!.!.!.down
Fourth beat!.!.!.strong left
Fifth beat!.!.!.!.left
Sixth beat!.!.!.!.left

(Now going to the right of the imaginary plane)
Seventh beat!.!.!.!.strong right
Eighth beat!.!.!.right
Ninth beat!.!.!.right
Tenth beat!.!.!.!.up (a very strong up) and to the left
Eleventh beat!.!.!.!.!.up and to the right
Twelveth beat!.!.!.!.straight upWww@QuestionHome@Com

The above answerer is right!. You subdivide and have 4 groups of 3 quarter notes!. When in doubt, always go for the triangle hand motion because it's simpler!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm not exactly sure but I'm guessing you should probably sub-divide either in 3 groups of 4 quarter notes or 4 notes of 3 quarter notes (depending on the feel of the music)Www@QuestionHome@Com
