Whats it like to audition for a show or a movie!? Has anyone here experienced that!? What dod you do once you go in for the audition!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

It depends on how the audition is structured!. Sometimes, they ask you to prepare a monologue or even part of a scene from the show!.

Other times, you do what's called a "cold reading," where you show up, and you're handed a script and asked to read part of a scene from it, maybe with another person who is also auditioning!.

In both cases, you arrive, usually sign in with someone, and then they call you in to do your audition!. Sometimes they have all the other people who are auditioning in the room with you while you audition, so they see you, and you can see them!. Other times, you do your audition just for the director, music director, choreographer, costume person, etc!. It really does depend on how the director wants to do it!. But you'll be told where to go and what they want you to do, and you just follow their directions!. They may have you read something several times, giving you different directions each time ("read it as if you were really angry" or "read it as if you just found out your best friend has died" or whatever !.!.!. )

After you're finished, the director usually won't say much, other than to thank you for trying out!. You may have to wait a few days or even a week or so before you hear anything!. You might get called back to read again -- that means you were one of several that the director would like to see/hear before making a decision!.

The important thing to remember is that they want you to do well! No one wants you to be scared or nervous or screw up!. They really want you to do a good job!. If I get nervous, I just tell myself that I'm NOT nervous; I'm *excited* instead!. And I use that excitement to help me do a better audition!.

i have never been in an audition:-( so this is a really good guess of how it feels like, u read a couple of lines and the judges judge u on how u say it, I've auditioned for singing and i didn't make it, so i was so nervous that i had messed up so its the best answer i can give uWww@QuestionHome@Com
