Question: Guitar question!.!.!.!.!.!?
is there a distortion switch or something you can put on my amp to sound like john petrucciWww@QuestionHome@Com

Lol!.

Their are a couple ways of getting the sound you want!.

Firstly, you could buy a distortion pedal!. What I would do is look on the internet and find out the distortion that John Petrucci uses and if he uses a pedal, go out and buy the same pedal!. If he uses his amp's distortion, do some research and determine what pedal will make your amp sound the most like his amp!.

Secondly, if your amp has a good drive/distortion channel, you can EQ your amp to sound like John's amp!. EQing an amp can be difficult if you don't understand how to do it!. To get an understanding of what each of your EQ knobs does, simply turn all of them all the way up, then play it for about 5 minutes!. Then, turn one of the knobs down and listen to the difference it makes!. Do this with all of your amp's EQ knobs, then listen to the sound that John Petrucci uses and determine where your EQ knobs should be set to!.

Hope I helped!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
