Ive heard nothing but bad reports about the edge 3, i was wondering what makes it so horrible!? and, if i should replace it with another system (maby the OFR, or edge zero it it fits) what do you guys think!?Www@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I just read some of the stuff people are saying about the Edge III!. It doesn't sound too good to me either!. One not too bright fellow was talking about how the tremolo system went back into the body when he drop tuned!. Well, DUH! The tremolo adjustment depends on the proper balance between "E" tuning and the tremolo springs!. Any deviation will make you have to totally readjust your tremolo tensioners!. also "divebombing" is a good way to make any tremolo system have fits I'm pretty sure !. Although to be honest, I can't say that with total confidence, because I've never used a locking tremolo system!. My opinion , though is that any guitar you have to modify after buying is not worth buying in the first place!!! Ibanez guitars aren't the greatest thing either!. I'd never be caught dead playing one!. I had an Ibanez strat back in the late 70's, It looked nice but the pickups were weak, and the tuners were crappy, and I've never even considered Ibanez after that!. Fender, Gibson, Epiphone or Paul Reed Smith guitars are the only brands I'd personally consider buying!. Maybe Ibanez has improved, but all their guitars seem to me made to look really wild and cool, maybe OK for an amateur "shredder" but they are not the instrument of a serious guitar player!. Of course this only the opinion of an older guitar player whose been around some!.
