Muramatsu or Altus flute?

Question: Muramatsu or Altus flute!?

For anyone who has ever tried out an Altus flute and a Muramatsu flute side-by-side, which one did you like better, in your opinion!. Which one would be better suited for college use!? I have to decide between a used Altus, and a used Mura, and I would like your opinion!. I know I have to try them out for myself, but I would like to see what other people think!. Straight and to the point!.!.!.!.!. I would go with the Muramatsu and especially if you are going to use it in college!. Your flute professor is going to be much happier with your playing if you are playing on a Murmatsu!.

I am not dogging the Altus!. I actually have one of each and the Altus is a fabulous flute, but not many people play them and probably no symphony players use Altus, where there may be some that play Muramatsu!. FYI - Muramatsu is the choice of James Galway!.

What pro symphony flutists play are Powell and Brannen!.!.!. with a smidgen of other brands!.

If you know what college you are going to!.!.!.!. I would suggest you phone and talk to the flute professor there!. Ask for his/her opinion because I have known students to go out and get their professional flute as a senior in high school only to be told by the college flute professor that it was not acceptable nor recommended by them!. This will save you alot of grief!.

I love both the Muramatsu flute as well as the Altus flute that I hand picked!.!.!.!. so if you are just asking which one!.!.!. I would go with the one that is better recognized and used by flute artists!.!.!. however, I really would consider speaking to the flute professor from the college you are hoping to attend!. This is going to make you feel better about your choice and also to know you are going to be equipped and ready for college!.
