To sand down your reeds, just follow this simple procedure!. On the back of the reed where it says the name brand (I'm guessing you have Vandoren reeds) feel for the rough part of the reed!. Any rough parts mean that's where you sand!. The parts on the back that feel rough!. But watch out, not all the reeds are going to be good necessarily!. There will always be some warped ones that won't play even after you sand them!. So ya just sand the back of the reed where it isn't like DVD case smooth!. but remember you must make it even so just sand all the way down and up the reed till all the back is smooth!. You might wanna get a sanding block!. They are a lot easier then just sand paper!. But you can tape your sand paper on a flat box like surface and rub it on the paper!. also remember to move the sand paper with the grain of the bamboo!.

Hope this helped!!
