Question: What typically goes down in your first guitar lesson!?

hey guys, for those of you who take lessons with a private teacher here's a question!. what do you do!?

because i'm a complete guitar noob and i'm meeting my teacher this week (for acoustic guitar lessons) and really dead nervous!.

i have barely touched the guitar before signing up so feeling dumb is inevitable but i'd just like an idea of what lies ahead!. s:

and do you think it's better if i find an older teacher instead!? because uum this guy's in his twenties, so!.!. poo, i don't know if that means anything in terms of behavior and experience and stuff!.

tell me if you have any input, thanks!

I started lessons about 6 months ago after trying to teach myself for about 10 years, so I had a little background on playing chords and such!. He'll probably teach you some of the basic chords, and maybe how to play scales to get your fingers used to moving around the fret board!. Don't be too disappointed if he starts you out on boring songs!. Everyone has to start somewhere!. I was discouraged at first when I started, but my teacher told me not to worry!.!.!. he said "you're a beginner!.!.!. you're supposed to suck right now"!. And I'm happy to say that with each lesson I suck less!. :)

As far as age goes, I don't think it's age that matters as much as experience, maturity and a basic understanding of playing different types of music!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Depending on how long the lesson is of coarse, he should basically show you the parts of the guitar, maybe show you how to hold the guitar, how to tune it etc!. , I recommend a teacher who will show you notation AND tab not just tab!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

well u usually just learn how to hold a guitar, lol and just talk!.!.!.!.!.dont worry about anything, it will go fine, and i dont think it matters, sure an older guitar teacher is more experienced but it worksWww@QuestionHome@Com
