Hey everyone im trying to sing scream for my band!. We have a singer but want to have the screams in there to kinda like a mix mybe kinda like bullet for my valentine but more metal!. so my question is how do you scream i have been told to use the bottom of your throat and breath from like where ur diaphram stomach area is!. and when i scream into my mic into my guitar amp with a distortion it sounds pretty good and i can sing along to music for about 2hrs!. b4 i stop but im not really screaming the whole time!. and i drink plenty of water i also find that when i chew gum while im singing it helps with my throat not hurting im guessing b/c ur body makes more saliva when you chew gum!. but after im done and everything my throat kinda hurts its not pain it just feels sore and my voice isn't hoarse!. am i doing it right and i also noticed that if i scream sing during later hours after i wake up in the morning i have mucus in my throat idk wtf that means!. also i dont really warm up at all just sing alog to some songs that dont have screams in them then i start to scream!. the water i drink is room temp!. any warm ups that will help or suggestions on how to scream would be good!. also i saw the zen of screaming dvd at guitar center would it be good to buy that!. i know melissa cross is suppost to be good at what she does!. thanxsWww@QuestionHome@Com

And you REALLY should warm up before you sing at all!. Or else you will be damaging your voice!. As you probably know!. To warm up, just go through the basic scale a couple of times!. Like do, re, mi, fa, so, la, ti, do, that sort of thing!. If you don't know sol fes (sp!?) then I'd have to ask why you are singing!. :)Www@QuestionHome@Com
