I would say that we both contribute in varying ways!. Although if you want to be quite literal, then the trashcan would be more consitent, because it is the real object and the phoenix is not!. But even so, a phoenix probably would have very little opportunity for help anyway, because it has to go to the conflict that it can control, while the trashcan is openly available to cntrol its conflict!.
