Letting your fingers get torn up to the point of bleeding is a very bad idea!. They'll scab up, make you unable to play for a while, take longer to heal!. When the scabs come off you won't have any callous!.

Instead, just play for short amounts of time to the point of moderate pain!. Once it starts getting moderately painful, that's a sign to STOP PLAYING!
After a couple weeks of doing this you'll have some callous on your fingers!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No they don't!.

If you're a good guitar player, you've played enough to build up calluses on your fingertips so that your skin will be too tough to bleed!.

Although if you don't play for a while, they'll go away and then you'll get blisters after playing for a while, and I suppose they'd bleed if you were not smart enough to stop!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

My fingertips have never bled during the 52 years that I've been playing!. Indentations, yes, until the calluses return after absences of playing!.

I wasn't able to always play every day during my military career, but I now have no excuses since my ultimate retirement!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The tips of my finger become indented and hurt for a while but I only play every once in a while!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

real guitar players have callouses, no need to bleed, but beginners trying to get to real status might bleedWww@QuestionHome@Com
