stay away from the Squires, you'll be disappointed with it when you finally learn to play, Ibanez makes a good Guitar that will last you awhile, or you can step up a bit and go with a Epoch or Epiphone which should last you a life time, but in the end you'll always want a real Fender or Gibson, or maybe a nice GretschWww@QuestionHome@Com

Well, here's the thing!. You never know if you are still going to play guitar for a long time, so i wouldn't invest in a Gibson or Fender American Standard just yet!. Epiphone guitars are good for beginners!. Epiphone is owned by Gibson, and has all of the same body styles!. You could also go for an Ibanez package that comes with an amp!. Here's a note: DO NOT BUY SQUIRE GUITARS! I would also recommend not buying an Epiphone package!. So as a final word to you: Get a cheap or used Epiphone Les Paul and a small Vox amplifier!. I hope I could help =DWww@QuestionHome@Com

I would recommend an Ibanez starter pack!. it comes with a small 50 watt amp as well as the guitar!. I think it's like $250- or so, a little over your budget, but the amp is included so it's a great deal!. I have one, I've been playing 3 years and I still like it!. But I want a bangin scheter or gibson but I have to wait til I am fetal!. thanks,Www@QuestionHome@Com
