Question: Guitarists: How to improve tabbing by ear!?
I am a guitarist, I have been playing for seven month only and I have a hard time tabbing out songs by ear!. I'm only 14, I am a freshman, I have had some private lessons, and I take Guitar class!.
Everytime I look up tablature for a song on (

http://www!.ultimate-guitar!.com) they are wrong!. I know I need to be learning all the scales, guitar method, how to read sheet music, and know proper history of rock-n-roll!. I'm learning that, but I'm more interested in learning how to play songs by ear!. I know it takes time & practice! Do you have any advice for me!? I need the tabbing for this song correct:

Have you tried Shred Academy, or Romain Chapus on you-tube!.I never saw ultimate-guitar, before now, I'll have to look more into it!.I use to learn songs from LPs ,when I was allot younger !.It got my brother so pissed ,cause it would put scratches ,and pops on his albums, from me returning to parts of songs I wanted to get down!.By ear ,sometimes they would be tuned high or low and I would have to compensate!.Just keep on Rock-n ,your young and you will perfect your craft!. When you play say, a scale or your basic chords, really LISTEN to the sounds!. Engrave them into your brain so you can hear them even you're not playing your guitar!. This is the first step in learning how to get your ear good!.
Not all tabs on ultimate-guitar are wrong: have you noticed the star rating next to each version of a particular song!? Those ratings tell you which ones are pretty near accurate (the more higher the rating by a lot of people, the better)!. I look for the versions of songs that have the five-star rating, if not, then I go down to four!.
You don't need to know the history of rock-n-roll in order to be able to figure out songs!. That's completely different!. But scales will help improve your ear, no doubt!. Yes scales are boring, but they're vital to your learning of guitar (and any instrument for that matter)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
