Hold the guitar comfortably, as if you're about to play!.

The string NEAREST your chin should be the thickest string, or the one that makes the LOWEST pitch!.

The strings should get thinner, and higher in pitch as you move towards your knees!. Cool!?!?

If you're holding it comfortably, and the string nearest your chin is the thinnest string, it's the wrong way round!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you're right handed, you hold the guitar so that your left hand is in position to press the strings down against the fingerboard to make chords or play notes (ie: the neck is pointing off to the left), and your right hand is set to strum or pick the strings!.

Then if the guitar is set up for a right-handed player, the thickest, lowest sounding string should be closest to your chin and the thinnest, highest sounding string should be closest to the floor!.

A lefty would hold the guitar so they're using their right hand to press down the strings to make chords and such, and their left hand is doing the strumming, and then the strings on a lefty guitar would be in reverse order!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I looked at it on the net the pickguard should be on the down side with the guitar held in left handed position; the pick guard being the black thin plastic piece glued to the body of the guitarWww@QuestionHome@Com

It is strung opposite a righthanded one!. Get a tuning manual and check it outWww@QuestionHome@Com
