Thirds in D Major (violin)? HELP!?!?

Question: Thirds in D Major (violin)!? HELP!!?!!?

I need to know how to play thirds in D major, so what are the notes, i have the beggining down, all the way up to the A String!. But it looks like it goes to the E String next and that's what confused me! There's a chair test today so that's why i need to know it! So what are the notes after that and which fingers do i use!? (I've only been playing the violin for a year)Www@QuestionHome@Com

e & g --- 1 & 3
f# & a --- 2 & 4 or 0A
g & b --- 3 & 1
a & c# --- 0 & 2

In theory, there's major and minor thirds!. If you're in D major, is it D major 3rds you're playing or any 3rds that follow the D major patterns!? Anyway, a Major 3rd from D is a F#, from E is a G#, from F# is a A# etc!. But this might not help!.!.!.

Actually it's kinda hard to know how to answer your Question for violin as I'm not sure if you're bowing the notes together, or separately!? Or whether you're playing major thirds or a mix of both major and minor thirds (as long as the bass note of the interval follows each note of D major up the scale)!. Does this help!?
