Question: How do I blow into the clarinet!?
In my latest question I asked, "Should I play the clarinet or the flute!?" So, I went to the music store and I chose the clarinet!. Right now, I can't figure out how to blow into the clarinet!. I've tried at least three videos to help me on YouTube all ready, but nothing was helping me!. Any ideas!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Curve your bottom lip over your bottom teeth!. Place the mouth piece in your mouth on your bottom lip and close your mouth so that your top teeth are on top of the mouth piece opposite the side with the reed!. Make sure you keep the corners of your mouth tight so that no air escapes!. Say "tu" as you begin blowing so that your tongue hits the reed and comes away (this is called tonguing)!. DO NOT PUFF YOUR CHEEKS!. Make sure you wet the reed with your spit before you put it on the mouth piece!. If you need more information, email me!. Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

ok place your upper teeth on the mouth piece about 1!.5 cm or so from the tip of the mouth piece!.

next suck in your bottom lip but it should come naturally!.

if no sound is creates, try a thinner reed or soaking it in a glass of water for 5 mintues, checking the postion of the reed (just under the tip) and if still nothing, seek musical attention!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Lick your lips first and then stick your tongue behind your teeth!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
