Any brand of acoustic guitar strings will fit on any acoustic guitar, and I've found there's not a whole lot of difference between the different brands of guitar strings -- the difference is in the string materials and the gauge or thickness of the strings!.

So a phosphor-bronze string is a phosphor bronze string, no matter who's name is on the packaging!. Same for a bronze, or brass, string!. String gauges matter - as a general rule, a heavier (slightly thicker) set of strings will be slightly harder for you as a beginner to press down on, but you'll get a fuller richer tone from them!. Lighter gauge strings will be easier on your newbie fingers but you do give up a bit of fullness of tone!. But as a beginner, that's less important than making the guitar a little easier to play!.

If I were you I'd get a set of light-gauge acoustic guitar strings and replace all of the strings on your guitar with the new set!. You really don't know what brand or gauge of strings are on your guitar now, or how old they are, so you might as well just replace them all!. Get someone at your local guitar shop to show you how to change strings so that you can do it yourself next time!.

You'll find that new strings sound wonderful -- clear, crisp, responsive -- but that over time as you continue to play, they slowly and gradually go dead and become dull, muddy and unresponsive sounding!. Old strings are more apt to break and less likely to stay in tune well!. So its a good idea to change your strings every few months or so to keep your guitar sounding its best!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

String brand by no means has to match guitar brand!. As a beginner, you'll probably want to start out with nylon strings (easier on the fingers), but if you're serious about having good sound, I prefer to use Phosphor Bronze wound steel strings!. The phosphor added to the alloy makes the sound warmer and extends the life of the strings!. A musician is normally wise to change his (or her) strings every 15-30 hours of play time!.

Last note, Elixer strings are very nice on an acoustic, but I like the Ernie Ball brands too (more for my electric though)!.

I also recommend buying a digital tuner and I would also recommend that you buy a full set of strings, a couple sets if you have the money to keep in your case!.
if you asked 5 different guitarists what's the best strings you'll probably get 5 or 6 different answers!. It's personal preference!. Here's what I like:

Brand doesn't really matter!.
I play electric and prefer super slinky strings but they can be tough on the fingers for a beginner, you might want to use nylon strings at first until you build up some calluses then switch over to round wound steel strings!.
Different types sound different, find a guitar player whose sound you like the buy the same type of stringsWww@QuestionHome@Com

BUY a TUNER!.!.!. or you will keep breaking strings when you overtighten them because you don't know what you are doing!.

Have the person at the guitar store help you!.!.!. at your level of playing ability, you won't know the difference between a high E string and a high E string!. Have the guy at the store show you how to replace the string!.!.!. and HOW TO USE THE TUNER!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

they don't make strings for certain brands of guitars, at least not that i know of!. i use d'adarios on my electric!. it all depends on the sound you looking for!. otherwise, just go to a music store and tell them you need a good set a replacement strings!. they'll help ya plenty!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
