Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: You aren't too old to learn!. Just get yourself in some classes or you could get sheet music and try to learn on your own!. If you know where all the notes are at this point, that would be great, but otherwise maybe get your first year of lessons and use them to learn other music (the class won't always let you learn the songs you want and it is very slow!)Www@QuestionHome@Com I am a music teacher in NY, since 1971!. This is a PERFECT age - you can read and write a whole lot better than when you were in elementary school, your attention span is a LOT longer, and you KNOW what you want!. Show this to your Mom - I am an expert in teaching kids your age (I taught MS and HS music since 1971, and retired this June) and am a competition judge in NY, too!. GO FOR IT! Get the BEST teacher you can - one that has a degree in music, at least, and it helps if they are certified - licensed to teach in school - because they have had student teaching, and know better how to teach kids!. The only thing is, at this age I'm assuming you're in high school, so the only reason you'd need to avoid it would be to have time to focus on your schoolwork!.
