Hard one to answer!.

It depends what you want it for!.
Since your're starting out look into an Epiphone if you are after a Les Paul sound and Fender's Squier series if you like the Strat sound!. Squire's are great guitars, name brand and they are cheap!. Guiar Center has Packages with a practice amp for $199!.00 all the time!. Cheaper around Christmas!. After you have been playing a while you will figure out what you like!. Go to music stores and touch them all!. Plug them in!. Love them!. You'll figure out what suites you!.
Gibson Les Paul is renowned for its unique voice and sustain!. Always a great instrument in any genre if you ask me!. Sounds great clean, driven and even at high gain!. The Gibson LP is a legendary rock instrument, however it is also used heavily in punk, ska, reggae, blues and even heavy metal (see Zakk Wylde for proof)!.

The Gibson SG is less known, but still a great instrument!. A little janglier (pardon the vernacular) and less ballsy it has nonetheless been put to great use by AC/DC’s Angus Young!.

The Fender offers many different kind of guitars, but the most well known are Telecaster and Stratocaster (and are probably the ones you are thinking of):

Telecaster – Great for blues and country!. Wonderful clean tone!. This was also Joe Strummer’s ax of choice though I find it is not as versatile as the Strat!.

Stratocaster – Great for blues and rock and also seen in country a lot!. Hard to drive for metal (though it can be done – Kirk Hammit played them exclusively for years)!. This is your Hendrix, Vaughan, Clapton guitar!.

Taylor makes a great acoustic!. I’ve always preferred a Martin but I have owned a Taylor and loved it!. Personally I think for the money the Martin is a better option!. I know that Dave Grohl is often seen with them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, I have a Gibson Classical Guitar that I have had for years and it has a great sound because it's so seasoned!. I also have a Taylor Classical Guitar!.!. a NS34CE!.!.!. the same guitar that John Oats of Hall and Oats plays!.!. and it's one of the best guitars I have ever owned or played!. I also have a Martin Custom D and, for an Acoustic Guitar It's as good as any Acoustic guitar!.

"better" is really a personal decision!.!. so it doesn't have any real answers!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Fender!. Gibsons are way overpriced!. But if your starting i would reccomend an epiphone, because they are good quality and i think theyre way better then squires!. (most squires) my friend has a squire tele and its pretty amazing but most arent that great!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

They are all good!. It depends on what sound you are looking for!. Look at what some of your favorite artist use and go with what they use!. Pick out the sound you like best and go with that guitar!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

gibsons are a little pricier but are worth it!.
but if you are just starting i would recommend a fender squier!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
