Question: Question about advanced picking technique for fast metal solos !?
while playing something that is pretty fast with alternating strings like this for example:

----19p15------15--19p15------15-----
--------------17-----------------17---!.!.!.
--------------------------------------!.!.!.
--------------------------------------!.!.!.
--------------------------------------!.!.!.
--------------------------------------!.!.!.

repeating!.!.!.

would you leave your picking hand stationary and change strings useing your finger tips to shift the pick or would you move your wrist more like a small strumming motion (if that makes sense)!?

i am just having a difficult time playing it as fast as it should be!. thanks for any suggestions!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Start slow!
I use my wrist, fingers feel akward for me!. My picking style is liek Michael Romeo if you know who that is!.
But first start slow, then go faster!. Don't just start going fast because it's going to make it worse!.

Here's a good site to get you started on alternate picking:

Hope that helps

I would probably just use alternate picking!. THis is a very common lick for classic rock and I am very familiar with it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
