Question: Broken violin rosin!?!?!?
My teacher told me I could melt the rosin, however I didn't ask for more details and I need to rosin my bow urgently (I need to play urgently :P)!.!.!. the thing is that both rosins I had broke down into really little pieces!.!.!.

What cautions should I take in order to melt the rosin!? How should I do it!? I'm a newbie in playing violin, however I need to play, I love playing :D:D:D:D

Rosin is fairly cheap, but you can melt and make a new cake!. I was able to put the rosin in a very small tin can!. Then place the can in a pan of water, bringing it to a boil!. The rosin slowly melted!. Then picking up the tim very carefully with pliers, I poured the melted rosin in to a small waxed paper cup!. Then placing the paper cup in tap water to cool!. You won't get all the rosin out of the tin!.
Be very careful and keep it away from kids!. It would burn severely because it would stick to you and continue to burn!.
Now days I would just buy a new cake and be careful not to drop it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I really wouldn't fool with it; the hot rosin could be dangerous!. Rosin is only a few dollars!. Just get a new one!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Don't try to melt it, its a waste to be honest,!.
Just buy a new one, thats what I did :PWww@QuestionHome@Com
