Speed and control comes from practice, there are no short cuts!. If you aren't taking lessons already find a good instructor and start!. Very, very few people will ever become great as a self-taught drummer!. Don't make the mistake of confusing speed with talent though!. Anyone can learn to play fast!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

seriously, even though the drummers you mention played fairly simple stuff, anyone who gains notoriety usually has practiced their butt off!.

as for playing fast, learn to use good technique!!! it makes playing fast much easier!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't really know how, but make sure you keep a good grip on your sticks!. I know a lot of people who have given themselves pretty large bruises on their faces because they didn't keep a good enough grip on their drumstick!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
