Question: How do i go about conquering stage fright!?
i have been a cheerleader for 4 years, because i love learning the routines and being with all my friends and having fun !. ive never had problems with stage fright when i was younger, but this past year, all of a sudden right at the end of the routine we were performing for a very large audience, i had to run off the mat and throw up!. im pretty sure i was just sick that day because i stayed up all night, so it might have been lack of sleep!. anyway, the next competition rolled around, and i just got so scared i was gonna throw up again that on the ride there, i threw up, and had to run off the mat and throw up again !. i was so mad at myself and everyone felt sorry for me!. i really want to be able to do cheerleading again but im devestated to work so hard for months at practice and then blow the whole competition !. also, i really want to start doing talent shows and singing because i have a pretty good singing voice !. i loved cheerleading and also became a homecoming princess at one of the games !. im only 13 and i dont want my nerves to stop me from doing what i want to do!. my whole family has pretty bad anxiety !. its like i know there is nothing to worry about and the people arent only focusing on me, its my whole team, but im so worried ill throw up again that i do!. any advice would be so greatly appreciated !. thanks in advance!Www@QuestionHome@Com

You really just need to practice!. The only way to conquer your fear is to face it!. I'm sure you've heard that a million times over, but really, it's the truth!. I've preformed all over the place, in tons of things, but I still get the butterflies right before something that means a lot to me!. If you really love performing, just do it! Don't let something like a little fear stop you from doing what you love!. And it sounds like you're really good at what you do!. Just believe that you'll do well and don't think about it!. I'm sure that you'll do great in whatever you decide to do, and you just need to practice, like I said!. Gather some friends and their families and put on a show for them!. It'll help!

also, a tip that I actually really truly use: Make sure that someone you love and trust is in the audience; someone you aren't nervous around!. When you are about to get on stage, catch a glance of them in the crowd!. Or, if you can't find them, picture them on the back wall!. Once you get them in your head, I'm sure you'll forget all about the audience and just do it!

also, make believe the front of the stage/platform is your bedroom mirror, and you're only watching you!. Picture yourself in the mirror, looking absolutely fabulous and winning by a landslide!. That should help you to do well!.

Good luck in whatever you do!

At age 13 your body is changing!.
i suggest that you look into your diet on performance days!. Ask the athletic coach what you should be able to eat and drink!. My self I limit my self to Gator aide for about 4 hours before performing!.
Best of Luck!.
Go get em!.
You know there is at least this one total stranger who is backing you all the way!. (Me)Www@QuestionHome@Com
