I am a music teacher and just this year I started teaching an 81 year old man how to play the saxophone!. I AM NOT KIDDING! He is 81! He is the sweetest man, and he wants to learn!. He showed up on the 2nd or 3rd lesson and said, "I practiced a lot, because I wanted to come back and make you proud!." It was soooo sweet!. In any case, as from my story, it isn't too late if you have the desire and dedication to do it! Thanks for reading!Www@QuestionHome@Com Lord no! Music- depending on how devoted you are, will stay with you- although admittedly its a fact as we get older we loose our sense of "muscle memory" and indeed find it more difficult to concentrate, and learn as quickly, but- for instance on the Ultimate-guitar forums- there are people whom have learned guitar in a year and can already outperform some whom have played twice as long!. Basically, the long answer condensed into a line, is that: People can learn as fast as the are prepared too - of course really its the coordination!. If you already have that, it should be a breeze, e!.g from guitar to banjo- all the skills are transferred- so all it takes is the settling in to the feel and the added skill of a fast right hand for all that hypnotic fast picking! From the title I assume you've already learned an instrument- or its a hypothetical question!. In any case, if you are indeed looking for an answer- No!.
