The only reason they are sounding sad is because you are playing in a minor key, if you want it to sound happier you are gonna need to play in a major key!

I'm kind of like that too with my stuff!.!.!.!. When I write chord songs or write any kind of guitar music, it's always sad or depressing!.!.!.!. This is probably because of who you are as a person or the kind of music you listen to!. You just have to push your musical boundaries, which is really really hard at times!.!.!.!.

Do not try to force yourself to write different music unless you are needing diversity or something, the best stuff you will ever write will come straight from you with hardly no effort!.!.!. it just comes to you!.!.!. at least that's how it is for me!.!.!.

Here are some ideas to help write some happy stuff:

Think about the best moment of your life and take the main idea from that moment and think about how it would sound as a song, then take it from there!.

Make up things in your head and then try to learn them on the guitar!.!.!. I do this a lot, I will be walking around somewhere and all of a sudden this great riff will come to me, try to remember it and then learn it on the real guitar later!.!.!.!. (Or maybe I am crazy!?)

Listen to a happy song that has the kind of vibe you are wanting, listen to it two or three times and make sure you are in the mood of that song!.!.!. Next start playing what ever comes out on guitar!.

Good luck =-) Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you keep on writing sad songs then maybe thats wat your best at && then eventually when you get all the sadness out !. you can write happy songs!.
or if you desperatly want to write happy songs listen to a happy song then think of a happy moment in your like or happy situation that you dream about && write about that <3Www@QuestionHome@Com

In a basic format, put it in a major key, work off a common (known) progression within certain notes of the key and change it up a bit (alot of commercials do this with popular music), give it an uptempo beat!.

Think of a 'happy' song or one that is uplifting,!.!.put yourself in that mindset!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Think about happy times and why you liked them!. Times that make you laugh!. And if its a sad song, it may be what youre feeling, so its good to get it out anyway!. I had that problem on the piano!. So I tried different keys and tried staying away from minors until I was sure that it was going to be a happy song!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Try to distort your guitar as much as you can and play random notes!. try to pick up on a rhythm for a chorus and big changes for a big solo!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Eat something you love, think of something you love!. Or just make a sad song, with a happy ending!.

Hope this helped!. :)Www@QuestionHome@Com
