Once you can play one kind of Saxophone, can you play them all?

Question: Once you can play one kind of Saxophone, can you play them all!?

I currently play the Alto!. How much of a difference is it from the Tenor, Bari, and Soprano!? Are the notes played generally the same as the Alto or are they completely different!?

Same fingerings, same notes!. Just adjusting embouchure and air flow!. Tenor needs more air and bari needs twice as much air as the tenor!. The soprano is a little devil, watch out for intonation!. It has a tighter embouchure like the clarinet!. The alto and bari are in the same key and tenor and soprano are in the key of Bb!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, seeing as i have played all woodwinds except bassoon and flute, it is slightly different fingering for the scales for the Tenor and sophrano because it is pitched in B flat, bari is in E flat so the fingerings will be the same for scales as the alto!. The tenor sax is a tenor voice, and it seems to be overpowering if you play the same way as you do the sax, so i suggest using faster air, not more air to play the tenor!. As to the Bari, play as full as you can because if you are playing to loud with it you will know!. Im playing Bass Clarinet at the moment so i know about that ^-^Www@QuestionHome@Com

same fingerings, different size mouthpiece & embouchure!. takes a bit of time making the adjustment, but it aint so difficult!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes and you can play the Clarinet as well, theres only 7 notes and they are always in the same order!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
