This is caused by excess air-pressure escaping into your nose, and it is most likely the result of throat tension!.

"The uvula is a small flap of tissue visible in the back of the throat between the tonsils!. As part of the soft palate, the uvula helps prevent food and fluids from entering the nasal cavity!.!.!."

To correct this issue, breathing should be done more deeply, in order to allow the diaphragm to go lower completely!. Wind players need to learn to really fill the lungs, allowing the stomach and the lower back to expand!.!.!. just like when we yawn, or lay down on our back and breath in a very relaxed manner!.

Expiration should be more like when we exhale when we yawn, or like when we fog a mirror or a cold window with our breath!. Think of blowing out the candles on a birthday cake that is 5 or 6 feet away from you!. When we do this, we engage a muscle area known as the "solar plexus"!. This is located at the top of our stomach area, just below the rib cage!.!.!. right in the center!. If you learn to engage this muscle, and use it when playing, it is very unlikely that any air will escape into your nose!.

In other words, this is something that is easily fixed!. Don't worry about it, and enjoy making music with your clarinet!

Best of luck to you!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Snorting is similar to snoring which is a relaxation of the muscles of the throat!.
Perhaps you need to do strengthening muscle exercises to extend your stamina while playing!.
Go to a voice coach and perhaps they have the proper exercises or check with your local university music school to see if what you do is common and you are just not aware of that fact!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Never heard of it! It may be a problem with your airway! i!.e that your airway is restricted is some way!. Open the back of your throat, Try some breathing exercises and maybe clear your nose before you play! Sorry I cant be any more helpful Www@QuestionHome@Com
