Question: What should be worn to a headshot session and is this a reasonable price!?
*I already asked, but did not get the 2nd part of the question answered*
I have heard that name brands is not a good idea, which leaves very few clothes to choose from, and supposedly its good to stick with lighter colors rather than darker!. I need some verification on these presumptions!. also the details for the shoot are
HEADSHOT SESSION
*100 exposures
*contact sheets
*2 8x10 prints
*cd burn of your selected photos
$275!.00(plus tax)

Are these good prices or should I look somewhere else!?

Additional Details

Im 17& I just want to know how reasonable the price of 275 plus tax is for the details given!. ThanksWww@QuestionHome@Com

Hi Tim,

$275 is an unreasonable price for a head shot photo session and 100 exposures is totally ridiculous!. What are you going to do with 100 shots of your head!? You only need about three that you like and that could be accomplished in 20 shots!.!.!. 30 at the most!.!.

2 8X10 prints are nice for your girlfriend and your mom!.!.!. but if you are using these shots (one to three of the best poses) to try and get jobs, you are going to have to get at least 50 printed up - and there are labs that specialize in doing this at a reasonable price - so there is an additional expense!.

I do think that entire package is through the roof!. I would look elsewhere!. Were I doing this job for you!.!.!. I would charge about $100!.00 for the sitting and $50!.00 for the CD!.!.!. you take it and have the prints made where ever!. Now if you can afford it, that is fine!.!.!. but still, you are going to have about 85 pictures that you will never be using!.

Now!.!.!. you don't choose too light of colors!.!.!.!. choose something neutral!.!.!. collared and button up shirt, perhaps a grey or tan suit with tie!.!.!. the formal look and perhaps a casual look with open shirt!. You need three looks!.

Hope that helped!.!.!. I just hate to see someone being taken advantage of!.!.!.

Thank you for reading my post!.

$275 would be quite reasonable in Vancouver, BC!. I think the price varies by area!.
Please check with some local acting schools, or the union, or some agents!. You can get a feel for if this is a good actor' headshot photographer or not!. People who do models all the time are not as good!. They will try to make you look pretty and perfect!. You want to look like yourself - warts and all, so to speak!.
It doesn't matter so much whether your clothes are light or dark!. Pick some outfits that represent roles you might be cast for!. You're 17 so perhaps dress like the girl next door (if that is a look you can pull off!.) Ask your acting teachers and other people for feedback on what they can see you playing!. Have a more upbeat shot for commercials, if you will be going out for them too!. And perhaps a more dressy look as well!.
You can also ask the photographer to see photos they have already done!. Do you like them!? Make sure your make up is not too heavy, and you can look like your photo when you show up in an audition room!. Casting directors hate it when you don't look like your photo!
Hope this helps!.
