Question: Good clarinet for a starter!?
I've been searching around for a good clarinet!. I'm a beginner with no prior experience with the clarinet-- the closest instrument I've ever played to it is the recorder!.

Can anyone recommend any good brands or types for me!? Thanks!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hi Mallows,

One of the better brands of clarinets on the market today is the Buffet clarinet!. There are two beginner models to choose from!. The Buffet B-12 is the resonite (hard plastic) model that many students begin with!. The E-11 is the grenadilla wood model which is more expensive because of the construction material!. Either is a good choice though the E-11 will take you a little further and maybe into one year of high school!.!.!. where as if you are still playing, you might want to upgrade to the intermediate or professional model!.

I cannot really recommend any other brands, as any others do not compare in quality to the Buffet clarinets!.

But if you are looking for names, there is Selmer, Normandy, Leblanc,
Vito!. These are not BAD!.!.!. they are just not as GOOD!.

Other clarinets that you find at WalMart or Sams should not be considered even though they are a real bargain price!. They are CHEAP imports that are!.!.!.!. I assure you!.!.!. a band director's nightmare!.

Hope I was able to add to the other answers!. Good luck with band!. It s a great musical experience, as long as you have a good dependable instrument to play on!.

Thanks for reading!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

you know, most saxophonists started out with a clarinet, but i didnt!. i personlaly hated clarinets(no offense) mainly because in our band all of our music has the clarinet as the main part!. example(song names): christmas for clarinets, blazing clarinets, clarinet calypso, ect!. im not saying i directly hate clarinets, but i hate the somgs we play!.

PLEASE READ ON!

but YAMAHA is a good brand for every instrument and it would be good for a starter for you!. i have a BLESSING though, and i think thats also a good type!.

hope i helpedWww@QuestionHome@Com

Yamaha, Signet, Selmer are definitely the best, most schools in this area usually start their begginers off with selmer and yamaha!. Most begginers start off with plastic clarinet, but a wooden one actually would be better to learn off if you can, it has better tone, a plastic one breaks easier, and the wooden ones might not be as shiny as the plastic, but i think it stills looks better!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

buffet, yamaha, selmer, bundy, leblanc, normandy, vito
purchase one of those brands & you wont have regrets,!.!.!.there are alot of cheaper instruments available but you get quality at a higher price!. think of it this way---you can get a no-name hunkajunk and send it to be fixed alot,!.!.!.or you can buy proven quality for a higher price and not have to keep having it fixed!.

& never purchase on ebay unless you really know what you are looking for!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Um, Bundy is a good brand, but if you are a beginner, the 'goodness' of the instrument is not important!. You will most likely not keep the same instrument forever, so any kind of cheap clarinet will suffice!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hi Mallows

For the price, a bundy clarinet is very good!. They just auctioned some at ebay for $30 , brand new and with a beautiful carring case!.

I would definitely look it up at e-bay!.
