1!. Im getting my guitar in a few days, and I really wanted to learn this song, but does it look hard for someone just learning how to play the guitar!?

2!. also I know the / and \ is something about sliding isnt it!?
Well how do you do that!?

1!. probably a little difficult for someone just learning!. wouldn't hurt to try, but you should stick to the basics 1st so you don't develop bad habits as far as finger placement etc!.!.

2!. correct, but the song you posted didn't have any slides in it!. they along with the [period] in question 3 were just how the author formatted the tab!. but to answer your question!.!. you just hold the string down, keeping the string pressed against the fretboard, slide it towards you / or towards the head of the guitar \!. ie: 2 / 4 you would press the string down on the 2nd fret, strike the string, and slide your finger up to the 4th fret!.

3!. see answer 2!.

4!. you can leave the palm of your right hand (or left if you are left handed) on the strings while strumming or picking them!.!. called a palm mute

1) Do NOT start with tab at the very beginning of learning guitar!. That's jumping a very wide gap and you're not ready for that leap!. Start with the basics then work your way up (cyberfet!.com is a great website!. Click on Beginner Guitar Lessons under the section Learn Guitar)!. But I highly suggest lessons!.

For future reference:

2) / means to slide up and \ means to slide down from one note to another

3) There are no periods in tab

4) To mute a string, rest your finger on the string lightly then strum (if you're playing a chord)!. The string won't ring out that way!. To palm mute, the side of your picking hand is placed along the bridge on top of the strings!. You'll get that muffled sound when you pick a note!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

slidingjust means dont take your fingers off the neck- i dont think the periods mean anything!. Its not that hard i just played it!. I'm just starting tooWww@QuestionHome@Com
