Question: How do I clean the body of my electric guitar!?
I don't want to replace the strings, they are still brand new!. I just want to clean the upper and lower bout of my guitar!. Can I just use a towel with some water!? I just want to get rid of all the fingerprints on the guitar to make it shiny again!. So is a towel and water a good way!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

The best way is to buy a microfiber rag and guitar polish!. The rag will cost anywhere from $3 to $10 and the polish anywhere from $8 to $20!.

Don't use auto or furniture polish - it often times contains grit to remove dirt, which will scratch your guitar!

There is a large benefit to using guitar polish: by polishing your guitar often, you build up a protective layer that acts as a barrier to scratches and small dings (the "evil" object that might ding your guitar slides off)!. It will also keep your guitar from getting smudgy and dirty longer than just water and a towel!.

A word of advise: cut small squares (4"x4" should do it) to use on your guitar!. That way, if you dirty the rag, you don't have to throw it away, just cut another one!. You don't want to polish your guitar with a dirty rag, it will scratch your guitar!Www@QuestionHome@Com
