Question: How do I make my electric guitar squeal!?
I have watched many videos of people explaining this technique, but I just can't seem to get it right!. I sometimes make a squealing sound, but its very low!. How do you make it squeal properly!? Any suggestions!? What's the best technique, and keep in mind that I can't go for guitar lessons at the moment!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
distortion as high as possible, and make sure you selected your trebble pick up (the pick up beside your bridge, or the one that has a higher sound)!.

here's the video that taught me how to do them!. i never took lessons, and this video taught me how to do it in one day! this guy is a really good teacher, and he has free guitar lessons on youtube and his website! but there are some other video's he'll tell you to watch so you understand how harmonics work, you should watch those, then continue watching the video i sent you in the link!.

get an overdrive pedal and that'll do the wrok for ya!.
without any effects pedals, the sound is normally pretty lame
if you're really serious about playing, then get a multi-effects box (like my old BOSS ME-5) - that'll give you hours and hours of fun time!Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's called a pinch harmonic!. You have to strum with your pick and then touch then that String with your thumb pretty fast!. You kind of "pinch" the harmonic out!. also you NEED a good amount of GAIN or distortion for it to work best!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
