Question: Have any of you been involved with the John Robert Powers Agency for Acting and Modeling!?
I was looking into it!. but I'd like some REAL stories instead of all the "it was great, fantastic, blah blah" stories they have on the website!.

What did you get out of it!? Is it worth it!?

Did you have to pay!? How much!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hi Taylor!. I have a little experience with modeling agencies and could share with you!. Have you ever taken any modeling classes!? Have you been hired for paying modeling jobs!? If your answer to both of those questions is no!.!.!.!. then you really do need some training by professionals to get paying modeling gigs!. Here is another question!. Are you 5'9'' tall or taller!? Are you 14 years old!? Are you "rail" skinny!? If your answer to those questions is no!.!.!. then even if you do take the training, they will not consider sending you out for paying jobs!.!.!. That is the problem!. People that have the strongest desire to be models get taken in by what these agencies promise!. Their classes are really professional and you do learn alot about how to model, fashion, make up, photo shoots, what to take to "go sees" and how to interview, also your portfolio (which I might add their photographer shoots - the pictures are gorgeous and you WILL want to buy all of them for about $1200!.00 or more and they will suggest it is best to have all of those poses in your portfolio)!. Now that all of that is done, and you are ready to be sent on an interview!.!.!. no one calls!.!. you get no jobs and they have no explaination but they really know that you are not the size, shape, age, complexion their clients want!.!.!. they didn't care about that anyway!.!.!. they just wanted the tuition fee you had to pay for your classes!.!.!. which WERE good!.
I suggest that you find a modeling school!.!.!. not agency!. If the tuition is realistic!.!. you can learn what you need to model!.!.!. but you should be realistic as well!. You must understand who the clients want!.!.!. what you have to look like for their purposes!. After you get a little training!.!.!. then look for an agency that is only an agency and not affiliated with any school!.!.!. cause that is where the scam takes place!.!.!. at the school!. You will have to get yourself a professional photo portfolio and headshot that represent your current look!.!.!. not a great pic that you took a few months back!. That is all I can think of right now!.!.!. except to call those modeling agencies in your city and ask what they require for representing you!. I wish you luck!.!.!. my daughter went through this whole thing when she was 14 and my wallet was the only thing that got real skinny, if you know what I mean!. She is really beautiful, but only 5'3" tall and wanted desperately to be a model!. Never got one job at the agency/school she went to!. Only disappointment!. Hope that does not happen in your case!. Thanks for reading this narative but I thought it best to be straight with you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

umm ya!. here is a tip!.!.!.!.if an "agency" asks you to pay any amount of money to them up front to represent you!.!.!.they are a fraud!!
legit agencies represent you and make their money by booking you and the money you earn from those jobs!.!.!.not from you directly!.!.!.
once again!.!.!.if you have to pay them!.!.!.!.its pretty much a scam!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Its a SCHOOL!. not an AGENCY! Run away, red alert, scam time!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ya they are worthless!. Save your money!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
