Question: If you have learned "perfect pitch", how did you do it!?
There are many musicians who claim that "perfect" pitch or absolute pitch can be learned, but I have yet to meet a person who has "learned' it and can display it to a high degree!. Every person that I have met with AP says that they were born with it!.

If you know that you were not born with it and you have learned it later in life, how did you do it!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

By definition if pitch has to be "learned" it is not perfect, or absolute pitch!. Even at a highly ear-trained level learned pitch is still "relative pitch" that is, the tones are identified by their relative highness or lowness to certain key tones one essentially develops a throat or ear memory for!. People with perfect pitch don't do it that way, i'm a composer and I've known two people with perfect pitch!. and they way they've described it to me is that it is like each tone or pitch has a distinct color or personality, instantly recognizable as itself and no other!. They don't understand the relative pitch musician's assertion that A is "almost" B-flat anymore than someone asserting that blue is almost green!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

start by memorizing "A!." If you have a piano that is in tune, every time you walk by it, try to sing an A!. When you sing it, go with your gut, and don't worry too much about correcting yourself until you check it against the piano!. Do this every time you walk by the piano and every time you think of it!. This way, I was able to memorize A in about two weeks!. Once you have A, you'll be able to find any other note you want by going up or down the appropriate interval!. This is probably as close as you can get to perfect pitch without being born with it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Get an A pitch pipe or tuning fork!. Play the A a dozen times a day for a week!. Then the next week, hum the A first, then check yourself with the pitch pipe or fork!. This isn't exactly perfect pitch, but once you get to where you can pluck an "A" out of the air, you can use intervals to find or figure out any other note!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well, i think perfect pitch is a gift personally!. weather, you obtain musical talent from one of your parents like i did, or it just clicks!. i think perfect pitch can be learned, but i think it can only be learned by the ones that are born with some sort of musical gift!. there's no way to learn it, it just comes after you've been playing for a certain amount of time!. try a string intrument!. good luck!. :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

I agree, for perfect pitch you need genetics, but try using songs you're really familiar with to remember the pitches by following the first note!. Soon, the note will be engraved in your memory and there! My friend did that and she came close to what I have so!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

100% perfect pitch is genetic but you can improve your pitch with practice, however, it will not ever be 100%, but you can make it closeWww@QuestionHome@Com
