what happens when you don't put the 3 inch allowance when you restring you electric guitar!?

will affect the neck and the tuning knobs in the longrun!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

strings might slip-out and come out of tune alot!.!.!. no damage to guitar!.!.!. but its an annoyanceWww@QuestionHome@Com

the tuners will wind it funny and it can be really hard to tuneWww@QuestionHome@Com
