Question: What guitar should i get!?!?!?!?
I'm saving up for a really good acoustic guitar, I want a Maton EAJ85 Jumbo or any kind of maton, but i'm told that Takamine also make good quality guitars!. Any suggestions!?!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Maton is very good, soundwise and reliability wise!. Even though I would suggest something else, your mind is made up so it would be pointless to compare Maton to another guitar!.
Correct !?!?!?!?

Takamine is less expensive, has a helluva of a sound and I will match it against any top brand of guitars!. I repaired enough guitars from Gibsons, Fender, Alvarez, Ovations etc!.!.!.!.!.

Takamine rarely comes to the shop!. Once I factory set this guitar, play it and forget the rest!. It has an awesome fingerboard just like a Maton, single cutaway for ease in playing on the high end and , has a good resale value!.

What I like about Takamine is that, any strings will sound good on it but not so with Maton!. Maton is better with Elixir!. Otherwise, it doesn't sound good and this, in the long run can be an expensive propositions!.
It's like the gas prices of today and a gas guzzler!. It has performance but too expensive to run!.

Your choice and please don't be offended!. Maton is a good guitar but no way, it is close to a Martin as some suggest!. Don't even go there as Martin never loses value!.!.!. Contrary, it gains with age!.

Same with Takamine!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Takamine are good guitars but not in a league with Maton, which are lovingly made in Australia!. The EAJ85 will run you about $3500 AUD and the Tak will be a small fraction of that!. In general with guitars you get what you pay for!. This is not to say that there aren't fine sounding Taks but that it's unreasonable to expect a Tak to sound like a Maton much less keep its value like one!.

I believe Tommy Immanuel uses Matons, which is a pretty good endorsement!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I love Takamine acoustics!.
But if youre seeking the best sound and smooth enjoyable palayability, can also try

--->spend serious money!.!.!.go look at only the ones that cost $1500 and up
---> that would include Martin's top end guitar (but I've never tried it - though it's suppose to be a dream to play!.

Try em! Even if cant pay that high!.!.start at top, and spend a couple months inhabiting the stores trying them all
so that youll get to know what GREAT is actually like,
and then can just find one thats like it in your price rangeWww@QuestionHome@Com

I agree with Left-T on this!. I sent him guitars and he knows his stuff aside from being an incredible guitar player!.

Takamine is a very good guitar for the price!. You can buy one at $80 and it will blow away guitars 5 times their price!.!.

Anyways, my opinion!. I use them with my students and believe me, the playabiilty is awesome as well as the sound and finish!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I bought a Takamine and that guitar, for the price is awesome!. The finish and the reliability is amazing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you want a really good acoustic, why not consider:

Collings, Santa Cruz Guitars, Martin, Taylor, Huss & Dalton, and tons of other small luthiers out there making great guitars!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
