It depends on the teacher!. Some music teachers are just amazing at making things graspable and will help you to understand all the complicated "formulas" in music!.

Is it an electric or acoustic class!? Or both!?

You'll most likely learn a lot if it goes up to the advanced level, but most of the fun and learning comes naturally after you learn a few of the basic fundamentals!. ;)

So my advice is to go ahead and take the class, you'll definitely learn something helpful!.
