it depends which genre of music you will play

if you play like rock or punk rock then bass might be boring for you, but if you play like chili peppers or funk-style stuff then bass can be AMAZINGLY AWESOME!. i mean if you want to like "pop and slap" then bass is just incredible, but learning stuff like that takes years of practice and HARD HARD work!.

i just started guitar about 6 months ago, and its awesome!. u will find that u can play lead, rythm, or basically anything on guitar and u will find what you like!. guitar is a very expensive endevor- especially in this day and age with like 2 trillion guitars and amps and effects to pick from!. bass is the same way but with guitar after a while you will get bored of just "clean" and "dirty" on you starter amp and eventually you will upgrade amps, guitars, and add effects many times and that can get quite costly!. i have already spent prolly 2000 dollars on stuff so far!.

but i mean it all depends what kind of music you listen to- play what sounds good to u and that will be much more rewarding than just playing "rhythm" or "bass"Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well it all depends on what you like!. Leads are awsome to play, but you need to put time and effort!. Rythm is fun, and kind of sets up what the lead plays!. And its awsmoe when you're just sitting down chilling with a few buds and just start to play and/or sing a song (ex: under the bridge)!. and bass is fun when you can play some riffs!. ex: Flea from red hot chilli peppers, that guy plays pretty funky :) But all in all just try everything and see what appeals more to you!. Bass is easier and probably funner Rhythm you need a lot of discipline to learn the chords and what not!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
