Question: How challenging is the audition to get into the Musicians Institute in LA!?

Well, I auditioned a few years ago and had a very, trying experience!. I walked into the audition room - after a difficult time finding the location - and was told to play my piece immediately!. Every few lines, they would request that I pause and then hyper-analyze my playing, criticizing any poor form to the slightest of details!. My piece itself was treated rudely, and they criticized my style by telling me I failed to utilize as much artistic license as was available to me!. Overall, it was quite a cataclysmic event that shook me to the core!. But don't worry, you should do just fine!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I got accpeted in 2002 or 2003, but I couldn't attend due to
lack of finances!. They wanted like $1,000 right there on the spot for first quarters tuition fees!. I remember back then I gfilled out application papers, game them my "War drums" demo full of drum solos and they said I was good enough to attend based on my demo!. You need to know yur solo real well and have your timing down solid as a razor!. Hope this helps and good luck with your audition!
