Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: If you're not sure guitar is going to be your thing, run out and buy an inexpensive acoustic!. An electric costs more, is more difficult to maintain, and is tough to set up (seems simple enough until the day you can't find a cord)!. You also might sit there and make noise with the pickups and turn the knobs all day rather than actually learning the instrument!. A nice thing about an acoustic guitar is that even if you give up after a few months, it makes a nice decoration, and friends who come over can pick it up and play without any hassle!.Www@QuestionHome@Com It depends what you like!. Electric, Acoustic, Classical!? Try to find one that is comfortable in your hands, where you can hold the guitar and your fingers can reach all the strings, and has a good action (The strings are not too hard to hold against the frets, and do not buzz when you try to play a note)!. If you are a real beginner, take the best guitar player you know with you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com if he/she sounds like they want play and will stick to the instrument, then go for something like a Squier Strat Pack!. It comes with a Squier Stratocaster Electric Guitar, Amp, cable, tuner, and some other stuff including a guitar bag all for $279!.99!. That's what I started out with and I couldn't have started with a better set up!. The amp sounds very nice for the price and the guitar is worth more than what they sell it for!. I still play my squire even after 4 years of playing and moving up to an American Strat!. it's nice!Www@QuestionHome@Com Just go for the best!. Buy a Taylor!. If you buy a cheap guitar it will be hard to play and therefore will discourage you from practicing!. http://www!.taylorguitars!.comWww@QuestionHome@Com Try a cheap acoustic, like a Jay Turser!. They're nice sounding, good looking, easy playing cheap instruments!. I got mine for $80!.Www@QuestionHome@Com |
