I think these type of shows should encourage singers or bands to perform their own material, particularly if they are performing contemporary music(a bit harder if its classical obviously), simply getting up on stage and singing someone elses songs turns it into little more than glorified karaoke, and stifles creativity and talent!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think they should for these reasons -

the auditions are way funnier with these jackasses coming on thinking they can sing

I think they should if it's something exceptional or not main stream!. X factor and all that stuff is for main stream!.
