Question: How do you become a professional food critic!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
You need to cultivate a background in the culinary arts and then broaden that experience as much as possible by traveling and experiencing a broad variety of food!. Food critics generally have a solid background in food and wine, a well trained palette, and are well traveled!. They are also excellent writers with journalism training!.

Read restaurant reviews and keep them in mind when you are dining out!. Practice writing some reviews of local restaurants!. Cultivate your own writing style!. Eventually, submit reviews to local underground and alternative newspapers, and work up to larger publications!.

As you build your resume, read a lot of "food" literature!.
